Geriatric rooms to start working in Tatarstan region in the next two years

On October 11, at a briefing at the Tatarstan Cabinet of Ministers, First deputy minister of health of the republic Sergey Osipov told about geriatric aid that will be available for Tatarstan elderly citizens in the next two years.

Development of specialized geriatric aid is an important area in the organization of medical aid for elderly people. Geriatric aid is rendered at departments or medical centers that help to lengthen life of pensioners.  Such centers are already working at hospitals for war veterans in Naberezhnye Chelny and Kazan. In 2016, doctors consulted 4,5 thousand citizens at geriatric centers.

Free medical aid is rendered to elderly people under the regional state programme.
