Modern social care technologies for elderly people implemented in Tatarstan

The number of elderly people and longevity are increasing in Tatarstan as well as elsewhere in the world. According to the forecasts,  ageing of population will be increasing, too.

These factors determined the strategy in relation to elderly people that was developed in Tatarstan. Modern social care technologies for elderly people are being successfully implemented in the republic.

The Minister of Labour, Employment and Social Protection of the republic Elmira Zaripova told about these technologies and results of work of government agencies with pensioners at a briefing at the Cabinet of Ministers. She informed that the number of elderly people has increased by 10 per cent in Tatarstan for the last five years.

Zaripova said that all conditions for organizing healthy leisure time and active public life of pensioners have been created at social and cultural centers. 

They can do Nordic walking, art and garden therapies, and other activities, she went on to say. 

Also, Zaripova reported that work on teaching elderly people computer literacy is carried out.
