We have to take seriously ecological situation and nature conservation actions in RT. This was announced today by RT President Rustam Minnikhanov at final session of RT Ministry of ecology and natural resources dedicated to activity of the ministry in 2010 and tasks for 2011.

By results of 2010 the volume of industrial production in RT has made 1 trillion roubles. It is the results of activity of large industrial enterprises of republic, especially petrochemical complex. “It is very difficult to achieve such serious volumes of industrial production. This surely increases anthropogenic impact on the environment, - Tatarstan President said. That is why our attitude towards ecological situation should be very serious as well”.

By words of Rustam Minnikhanov, today we have to consider ways of stimulating industrial enterprises to spend funds on ecological actions, use of modern equipment and programs which allow to protect our environment. He made positive examples of JSC ‘TANECO” (Complex of oil-refining and petrochemical plants in Nizhnekamsk), JSC “Tatneft” and JSC ‘TAIF-NK”.

This problem should be solved jointly by RT Ministry of ecology and natural resources and enterprises themselves.

Rustam Minnikhanov also spoke about such urgent problems as reduction of water level, particularly in Volga River and modernization of treatment facilities.
