Ildar Khalikov: Germany is Tatartan's long-time reliable partner

On September 20, at Tatarstan Government House, Tatarstan Prime Minister Ildar Khalikov had a meeting with State Secretary of Ministry of Economy of North Rhine-Westphalia Gunther Horzetzky.

Germany is our tong-time reliable partner in trade relations, Khalikov said, pointing out that almost 100 joint enterprises are doing business in the republic.

According to him, some political tensions in the world arena have not influenced Tatarstan-German business relations. The work on all existing projects is underway, a number of new ones appear. At the same time, due to the depreciation of the rouble the cost of production in Russia became lower than in Europe and some Asian countries, which makes localization of German enterprises in Tatarstan even more profitable.

Tatarstan Prime Minister reminded that launching regular direct flights Kazan - Frankfurt – Kazan was important event for the future development of relations.

Then Khalikov briefly told about economic and investment potential of the republic, noting such fields as oil and petrochemical industry, machine building, agriculture, information technology, medicine and health care.

"There are a lot of areas that could be a basis for the development of cooperation between Tatarstan and Germany. We have a lot of work to do," Khalikov continued.

Thanking for the reception, Gunther Horzetzky noticed that, despite all the political difficulties, North Rhine-Westphalia has always maintained contacts with Tatarstan.

«Our delegation includes representatives of large companies that are interested in developing partnership relations with Tatarstan. The regional leadership has always had special approach to dealing with foreign investors. We appreciate it and want to strengthen our trade and economic relations,» State Secretary added.
