Farid Mukhametshin: “Family plays crucial role in preserving native language and cultural identity”

On August 5 Chairman of Tatarstan State Council Farid Mukhametshin opened the 7th World Forum of Tatar Youth.

Farid Mukhametshin noted the big role of the Forum in preserving the national language, culture and traditions of the Tatar people. “According to many authoritative politicians, public and religious figures, Tatars, with their hard work and friendly attitude to other nationalities, gained respect and trust all over Russia”.

Welcoming the participants of the Forum on behalf of the President of the Republic of Tatarstan, Chairman of the State Council noted that such events unite young people. He went on saying that the President expressed hope that the Forum will give participants big experience and new ideas.

Farid Mukhametshin said that Tatarstan is becoming recognized around the world both due to the efforts of the regional administration and its leader Rustam Minnikhanov, and compatriots, who represent the republic in Russia and abroad.

Forum will be held in Kazan on August 4-7, 2016. The event attracted over 900 representatives of the Tatar youth of 30 CIS and non-CIS countries, 60 regions of the Russian Federation and the regions of the republic.

The participants discuss the problems of development of the Tatar nation, maintenance of traditions, customs and the role of youth in the preservation of the Tatar national identity.

World Forum of Tatar Youth was established in 2004 and is held once in two years.
