Rustam Minnikhanov unveils monument to Tatar cultural figures Rashit Vagapov and Khaidar Bigichev in Nizhny Novgorod

On July 16, during his working visit to Nizhny Novgorod, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov accompanied by the Governor of Nizhny Novgorod Valery Shantsev took part in a solemn unveiling of the monument to Tatar singers, who were born in Nizhny Novgorod region Rashit Vagapov and Khaidar Bigichev.

Welcoming the guests, Rustam Minnikhanov said that unveiling of the monument to two outstanding Tatar cultural figures is an important event for the whole country. Rashit Vagapov and Khaidar Bigichev made a great contribution to spiritual heritage of Tatar people, he noted.

Rustam Minnikhanov thanked governor of the region for his help in the construction of the monument and preservation of Tatar traditions. Also, he handed over Commendations of Tatarstan President to those, who were actively involved in the project.
