Rustam Minnikhanov takes part in a festive prayer in honor of Eid al-Fitr

On July 5, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov took part in a festive religious service, dedicated to one of the main Muslim holidays - Eid al-Fitr. Chairman of the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of Tatarstan Kamil hazrat Samigullin held a solemn sermon and prayer in the Galeev Mosque in Kazan.

During his sermon, Mufti of Tatarstan read out congratulatory telegrams from Russian President Vladimir Putin and Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov.

Kamil hazrat Samigullin noted that this year there was an important event in the life of the regional Muslims - the laying of the foundation stone of the Bolgar Academy of Islam aimed to become the main Islamic scientific and educational center in the country.

Mufti of Tatarstan also commented on sad events that took place in Saudi Arabia last night. The terrorist attack in Medina killed four people. Kamil hazrat Samigullin strongly condemned the criminal actions of terrorists and stressed that such actions are contrary to the rules of Islam.
