Rustam Minnikhanov meets with Head of the Federal Medical-Biological Agency Vladimir Uiba

On July 4, at their meeting at a new medical center in Innopolis city, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov and Head of the Federal Medical-Biological Agency Vladimir Uiba discussed issues related to the development of sports medicine in Tatarstan.

Minister of Health of the republic Adel Vafin reported that there are four departments of sports medicine in Tatarstan: in Kazan, Zelenodolsk, Nizhnekamsk, and Almetyevsk. There is one medical-sports dispensary in Naberezhnye Chelny. The Regional Medical Prevention Center has registered 11,800 athletes, including 383 masters of sports and 62 masters of sports of international class.

The meeting also discussed prospects of development of sports medicine in the republic. In particular, the idea to establish a special directorate aimed to control activities of medical-sports services agencies in Tatarstan was suggested.

Tatarstan Prime Minister Ildar Khalikov, Minister of Health of the republic Adel Vafin, Tatarstan Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports Vladimir Leonov, Rector of Kazan Federal University Ilshat Gafurov and other officials took part in the meeting.
