Rustam Minnikhanov: Nowadays ethnographic tourism is becoming more popular

On June 29, at a session of the Tatarstan Presidential Council for inter-ethnic relations at the Kazan Kremlin, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov said that among priority tasks of the Russian Strategy of state and national policy until 2025.

Issues of the development of ethnographic and cultural-educational tourism, and recreation zones were discussed at the session.

Combining holidays with learning about lifestyle, history and culture of other nation are the tasks that can entirely be realized by tourism industry, Minnikhanov said. He reminded that in accordance with the decision of Russian Government, Tatarstan among other 17 regions is implementing the federal programme “Development of domestic and international tourism in Russia (2011-2018)”.

The film about the experience on the development of ethnographic and cultural-educational tourism was shown at the session. Also, a magazine “Tatarstan is our home” was published.
