Ildar Khalikov meets with delegation representing Pakistan businessmen

On June 2, at Tatarstan Government House, Tatarstan Prime Minister Ildar Khalikov had a meeting with the official delegation of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan led by State Minister of Pakistan, Chief Executive of Trade Development Authority of Pakistan Shaikh Muhammad Muneer.

Opening the meeting, Khalikov expressed his gratitude for the sincere interest of the Pakistan business community to Tatarstan and the desire to develop mutually beneficial cooperation. In previous years a number of meetings between Tatarstan and Pakistan businessmen to demonstrate economic and investment potential of both republics were held.

Shaikh Muhammad Muneer said that Pakistan and Russia have established long-standing friendly relations in political terms, while business cooperation is not that close. The Pakistan delegation is interested in cooperation in the fields of mechanical engineering and petrochemistry with Tatarstan and in turn offers to import goods of agriculture and light industry in the republic.  

Sheikh Muhammad Munir also noted a high level of higher education in Tatarstan, adding that Pakistan is ready to send more students to get education in Tatarstan.

Summing up the meeting agreed to create a joint working group for the development of business relations between the Republic of Tatarstan and the Islamic Republic of Pakistan.
