Rustam Minnikhanov visits Kazan Center of Rowing Sports

On June 1, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov visited Kazan Center of rowing sports. The building of sports and recreation center was built recently, but it has already obtained recognition of both athletes of the republic and teams from all over Russia.

Tatarstan President accompanied by a representative delegation, which included employees of Executive Office of Tatarstan President, State Council and Tatarstan Cabinet of Ministers looked around training halls.

On the ground floor of the complex he talked to male and female volleyball student teams of Tatarstan. By the way, Tatarstan is the only region of Russia, where the men's team is led by a female coach, Olesya Matvienko. She told Minnikhanov about the team's success and noted that conditions such as offered here, in the republic, can be found in few places.

On the first floor of the complex, Tatarstan President saw the regional rowing team having a work-out session. Students of the children’s and young person’s sports school have the opportunity to work out here as well. More than 400 children attend training sessions both in this hall and in the open water.

The residential complex, which is called a hostel here, is able to accommodate 230 people at a time. And most rooms are ccupied,  because today the rowing channel of Kazan has opened the new season. Tatarstan President could watch the training process in the open water from the observation site of hostel.
