Rustam Minnikhanov visits the main Sabantuy-2016 venue in Kazan

On May 28, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov together with participants of the Strategic Vision Group “Russia- the Islamic World” took part in celebrations of Sabantuy.

During traditional tour of the Sabantuy town in the national village in Arsk district the guests could see traditional for this holiday competitions, such as wrestling, sack races, breaking clay pots blindfolded.

"Dear citizens of Kazan, guests of our capital. We welcome you on our most favorite holiday - Sabantuy. It crossed the border of the republic long time ago and is held in 57 regions of Russia and 27 countries worldwide. The holiday is not only for Tatar people, it brings peoples together,” Minnikhanov said in his welcoming remarks.
