Rustam Minnikhanov: Tatarstan and Kostroma region have good opportunities to develop trade and economic ties

On May 24, at his meeting with the Governor of Kostroma region Sergey Sitnikov, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov said that Tatarstan and Kostroma have good opportunities to develop trade and economic ties.

Sitnikov noted that for many years the two regions have been bound by close friendship.  “Today's task is to develop our social and economic ties. We are actively making use of Tatarstan experience in attracting investment and establishing special economic zone,” he said.

The governor added that an Action Plan on measures to implement the Agreement on cooperation between Tatarstan and Kostroma region will be signed today. He said that he is sure that this document will contribute to strengthening relations between the regions in all areas.

Minnikhanov thanked Sitnikov for well-arranged visit of Tatarstan delegation. “We are very grateful for the attention you are paying to the development of cooperation with our republic,” he said.

Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Industry and Trade of the republic Albert Karimov, Chairman of the Executive Committee of the World Congress of Tatars Rinat Zakirov, representatives of large industrial enterprises of Tatarstan and business community of the Kostroma region took part in the meeting.
