Rustam Minnikhanov: Kazansummit has become a place for meeting and open dialogue between Russia and OIC countries

On May 20, at a business breakfast of the 8th International economic summit “Russia-Islamic world” KazanSummit 2016, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov
said that Kazansummit has become a place for meeting and open dialogue between Russia and OIC countries.

Kazansummit is being held in Kazan on May 19-20 at Korston hotel. Representatives of 50 countries are taking part in the summit.

Speaking at the event, Rustam Minnikhanov noted that 20 mln Muslims live in Russia, and representatives of Russian State Duma, Federation Council, Central Bank, Ministry of foreign affairs, and heads of some regions are taking part in the forum. He added that it important to use the existing potential of Islamic world today, and that Tatarstan is taking steps in using the tools of Islamic banking and development of halal industry.
