Tatarstan President leads the “Immortal regiment” movement in Kazan

On May 9, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov led the “Immortal regiment” movement in Kazan with 45, 000 people carrying portraits of their relatives, who took part in Great Patriotic War.

Rustam Minnikhanov was carrying the photo of his uncle– Minnikhanov Galimzyan Minnikhanovich, who went to war at the age of 19 and died on December 15, 1941 near Moscow.

Tatarstan State Counsellor Mintimer Shaimiev and Chairman of State Council Farid Mukhametshin joined the campaign.
