Tatarstan President inspects construction of new plants at Alabuga Special Economic Zone

On April 29, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov accompanied by Director General of Alabuga Special Economic Zone Timur Shagivaleev visited new plants under construction at Alabuga. The first site was the second construction stage of KASTAMONU plant and a new plant of Drylock company (Belgium).

The decision about expansion of production of MDF panels at KASTAMONU plant was made at the end of 2014 when the first construction stage was successfully completed. The amount of investments in the second construction stage makes 250 mln dollars,  the production volume will make 485, 000 cubic metres of panels per year. The total amount of the company’s investments has reached 600 mln dollars.

The Belgium company Drylock is building a plant that will produce sanitary and hygiene products for women, children and people with limited mobility. The company obtained residency status at Alabuga in March 2013. The construction stopped due to financial problems, however, in July 2015 Drylock Technologies estimated the project potential and prospects and resumed the construction.  A solemn ceremony of the project “unfreezing” with the participation of Rustam Minnikhanov took place in August.

The production department where the equipment is now being installed was shown to Rustam Minnikhanov today.
