Rustam Minnikhanov opens Haier plant in Naberezhnye Chelny

On April 22, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov, Presidential Envoy of the Volga Federal District Mikhail Babich, Tatarstan Prime Minister Ildar Khalikov, President of Haier Corporation Liang Hayshan, Mayor of Naberezhney Chelny Nail Magdeev, representatives of regional ministers and departments took part in a solemn opening of the Haier plant for the production of refrigeration equipment  at the Master Kama industrial park in Naberezhnye Chelny.

In his welcoming speech, Babich noted that Tatarstan is one of the Russia’s key regions, the leader in terms of attraction of investments and industrial development.

“Today is a great day for the whole of Russia: a company of world-wide reputation has opened its production line in Tatarstan. The regional leadership and personally Rustam Minnikhanov have done a lot of work,” he said.

Babich added that Haier has a goal to localize production and sales of refrigerators in Russia as much as possible, as well as to launch a TV sets assembly line.

Minnikhanov thanked the Haier’s leadership for fulfilling their contractual obligations, timely and well-coordinated work.

“This is only the beginning. Modern refrigerators, which will be made here,  as well as a huge range of products, including washing machines, telephones, and awater heaters are in great demand on the Russian market,” he said. “Our republic is ready to continue to provide all the facilities for the Haier development in Tatarstan and Russia,” he said.

Liang Hayshan thanked Tatarstan leadership for active cooperation at all stages of the project implementation.

Then Minnikhanov and Hayshan have symbolically launched the new production facility.
