RT Cabinet discussed anti-drug measures sold as household chemicals

Today’s session of RT Cabinet Presidium was dedicated to measures on resistance to spreading and use of psycho-active substances realized as household chemicals. The session was held by RT Prime Minister Ildar Khalikov.

Deputy Chairman of RT State Council Alexandr Gusev, heads of republican and federal ministries, RT Prosecutor’s office, responsible employees of RT President and RT Cabinet offices, officials of institutions of higher and secondary professional education attended the event.

Mixtures containing psycho-active substances that are not in the list of narcotic drugs have appeared in Tatarstan. They were mainly realized via network of sales points, kiosks and Internet as fertilizers for plants, bath salts, e.t.c.

RT Minsiter of health care Airat Farrakhov informed that these substances cause quick habituation effect. Republican leadership started to work efficiently on preventing further spreading of such mixtures in Tatarstan. Letters of RT President Rustam Minnikhanov informing about situation and necessity of taking special measures were sent to appropriate authorities, RT Prosecutor’s office, Administration of Rospotrebnadzor on RT and other structures.

By RF Governmentте Edict №578 dated as of 29.07.2010 most often found psycho-active substances were included into the list of drugs and psychotropic substances forbidden for turnover in Russia. Law enforcement bodies started working on realizing complex of administrative and criminal procedure measures towards persons involved in illegal turnover of these substances.
