Rustam Minnikhanov: We are interested in Thuringia companies choose our republic to enter the Russian market

On April 20, speaking at the Tatarstan – Thuringia economic forum in Kazan, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov said that the trade turnover between Tatarstan and Germany exceeded 1 billion euro  in 2015 .

Minnikhanov thanked Prime Minister of Thuringia Bodo Ramelow, who took part in the event, for his attention paid to Tatarstan as one of fastest growing Russian regions and opportunity for further cooperation at the interregional level. He said that he is confident that “International and political climate will be normalized and our task is to give the right impetus to business development".

"Tatarstan is interested in expansion of mutually beneficial cooperation with German companies, which have traditionally occupied the leading positions on the world markets in many sectors of the economy. We hope that at today’s meetings and discussions Tatarstan and Thuringia businessmen will exchange their best practices, open up new areas for collaboration,” Minnikhanov said.

"Germany is our leading foreign economic partner. Tatarstan German turnover exceeded 1 billion euro in 2015, with high level of imports of machinery and equipment from Germany,” Minnikhanov went on to say.

He noted that there are over 80 enterprises with German investments in Tatarstan.

"We are interested in Thuringia companies choose our republic to enter the Russian market. We are open for mutually beneficial cooperation and ready to develop our relations," he concluded.
