Rustam Minnikhanov: Care of WWII veterans is the state’s task at any time

On April 19, at a session of the Organizing committee on the preparation for the 71st anniversary of Victory in Great Patriotic War 1941-1945, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov said that the main tasks today are provision of affordable and quality medical and social services to veterans regardless of their place of residence, patriotic education of the youth, and involvement of veterans in work with young people.

Minnikhanov noted that large-scale work was done in the republic before the 70th anniversary of Victory in Great Patriotic War last year. In particular, the second volume of the Book of heroes dedicated to 80 heroes of the Soviet Union was published, the Walks of heroes were created in Tatarstan cities and regions, the regional contest “Our victory” was held, museum expositions dedicated to the Great Victory were shown in municipal regions and enterprises.

Prime Minister Ildar Khalikov, Deputy Chairman of the Organizing committee Vasil Shaikhraziev, Chief of Staff of the Cabinet of Ministers Shamil Gafarov, Chairman of State Council Farid Mukhametshin, heads of regional ministries and agencies and members of public organizations took part in the session.
