Tatarstan President awards winners of the regional contest "Philanthropist of 2015"

On April 14, at the Korston Entertainment Compex in Kazan, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov awarded winners of the regional contest “Philanthropist of 2015”

Welcoming the audience, Minnikhanov reminded that 10 years ago, the Regional Charity Council was established on the initiative of the first Tatarstan President Mintimer Shaimiev, and since 2007 the entire republic has been involved into this noble activity.

"During this time over 1,700 people participated in the competition, philanthropists allocated 23 billion roubles. And now such events with participation of large companies, small and medium businesses are held in Tatarstan every year. I welcome all my colleagues, philanthropists, large families with children gathered in this hall today. I would like to sincerely thank you for the work you are doing," Minnikhanov said.

Speaking about the contest "Philanthropist of the Year", Minnikhanov noted that "this kind tradition must be preserved and continued". "A philanthropist is an indifferent person, providing assistance in various fields. I want to congratulate the winners and those who are actively involved in all of our social projects. Thanks to our joint efforts Tatarstan is very different from other regions, and that is due the contribution of each of you,” he added.
