Ildar Khalikov hands over awards to winners of WorldSkills championship in Kazan

On April 9, Prime Minister of Tatarstan Ildar Khalikov, Director General of WorldSkills Russia Robert Urazov, Minister of Education and Science Engel Fattakhov, deputy of Russian State Duma, first deputy chairman of the State Duma Committee for physical culture, sport and youth affairs Marat Bariev took part in the closing ceremony of the championship “Young professionals” (WorldSkills Russia).

From April 7 participants of the championship have competed in 56 competences. Also, children aged 10-17 have competed in 15 competences at Junior Skills championship.

Ildar Khalikov said that before Kazan won the right to host WorldSkills in 2019, no one had known about this championship in Russia. He noted that best regional workers took part in the championship.

Robert Urazov thanked experts and organizers of the event, and wished good luck to Tatarstan team in semi-final in Saransk.

Khalikov and Urazov handed over first awards to winners of Junior Skills.

Speaking at the ceremony, Engel Fattakhov said that WorldSkills gave impetus to the development of secondary professional education.
