03.08.2010

Creation of family dairy farms should become a priority direction for Tatarstan’s agroindustrial complex, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov said at the republican seminar-meeting on the development of family dairy farms.

The seminar was held in the Kukmor Municipal District, Tatarstan.

The head of the republic believes modern family dairy farms apart from producing milk tackle a whole range of tasks such as creating jobs in rural areas and helping preserve traditional rural way of life.

Rustam Minnikhanov gave a positive assessment to the family farms that had been organized this summer in the Kukmor District with participation of the district administration and the Tatarstan Ministry of Agriculture and Food.

In accordance with the Family Farms programs, OAO Rosselkhozbank grants loans to farmers for 8 years at an annual interest rate of 15 percent and a 2-year delay of payment while the interest is refunded at the refinancing rate of the Russian Central Bank (7.75% per annum).

The Tatarstan Ministry of Agriculture and Food refunds half of the cost of equipment for dairy farms and expenses for buying cattle are refunded at a rate of 30-40 rubles per 1 kilogram of live weight.
