President of FISU George Killian: It is necessary to put much emphasis on transport infrastructure while preparing for Universiade 2013 in Kazan

RT President Rustam Minnikhanov met with President of International university sports federation (FISU) George Killian in Kazan Kremlin.

We remind that President of FISU George Killian, Secretary General of FISU Erik Santron and member of FISU executive committee – President of Russian sport student union Oleg Matytsin arrived in the capital of Tatarstan by invitation of Rustam Minnikhanov.

In the morning guests saw sport objects of Universiade 2013 - Universiade village, Academy of tennis, Palace of single combats.

George Killian also visited the area for construction of Centre of water kinds of sport and football stadium for 45 000 places and sport complex “Olimp”.

At the meeting with RT President Rustam Minnikhanov George Killian shared impressions regarding holding of International forum “Russia-country of sports” in Moscow (July, 29-31). Mr Killian highly assessed level of preparation for the forum and that serious attitude of RF President Dmitry Medvedev towards holding such large-scale sport events.

Speaking about sport objects built in Kazan President of FISU considers all of them to be built at high level.

RT President Rustam Minnikhanov in his turn noted that Federal government seriously takes holding of Universiade 2013 in Kazan.

George Killian noted that within the limits of preparation for holding Universiade 2013 much attention should be paid to transport infrastructure.

Rustam Minnikhanov and George Killian also discussed issues of Universiade heritage and creation of Academy of physical culture, sport and tourism in Tatarstan.

CEO of Olympic committee Marat Bariev, RT Prime Minister Ildar Khalikov, RT Minister of youth affairs, sport and tourism Rafis Burganov and Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin took part in the meeting.
