Tatarstan and Turkey to expand spheres of mutually beneficial cooperation

RT President Rustam Minnikhanov and Minister of energy of Turkish republic Mr. Taner Yildiz met at Kazan Kremlin. Rustam Minnikhanov warmly welcomed delegation from brotherly Turkish republic. He noted that Turkey is one of leading trade partners of Russian Federation and Republic of Tatarstan. Tatar and Turkish people are tied by close cultures and languages, Rustam Minnikhanov said.

President of Tatarstan reminded that on the territory of special economic zone “Alabuga” on the threshold of RF President visit to Turkey a solemn ceremony of laying the foundation stones of two new plants of Turkish companies was held. Turkish delegation also participated in celebrations of Tatar national holiday “Sabantui”.

Head of Tatarstan thanked likewise for holding festive actions in Turkey within frameworks of jubilee of Tatar poet Gabdulla Tukai.

Rustam Minnikhanov emphasized that positive role of consulate-general of Turkey in Tatarstan and representative office of Tatarstan in Turkey in developing bilateral relations.

Taner Yildiz thanked Tatarstan President and Prime Minister for invitation to visit republic.

By words of Taner Yildiz the meeting with Tatarstan President in Kazan Kremlin was very fruitful.

RT Prime Minister Ildar Khalikov announced that volume of foreign-trade turnover between Tatarstan and Turkey is constantly increasing.
