Tatarstan President has a meeting with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Slovenia to the Russian Federation Primož Šeligo

On March 15, at the Kazan Fair Exhibition Centre, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov had a meeting with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Slovenia to the Russian Federation Primož Šeligo within the framework of the XVII International specialized exhibition “Energy. Resource Saving”.

Welcoming the Ambassador, Minnikhanov thanked Primož Šeligo for his assistance in arranging the meeting of Russia-Slovenia intergovernmental commission held in September last year. “We attach great importance to developing cooperation between Tatarstan and Slovenia within the framework of Russia-Slovenia relations,” he said.

"We signed the Memorandum of Cooperation within the framework of the intergovernmental commission. Today we have the possibility to get equipment for our industrial and agricultural enterprises. It is very important to intensify work of our Chambers of commerce and industry. Thank you for the Slovenian Visa Application Centre opened in Kazan. I believe that despite the current situation between Russia and Europe, we should move on to find mutually beneficial projects,” Minnikhanov said.

Tatarstan is ready to provide the opportunities for its partners to develop their  business in Russia, Tatarstan President said and offered Slovenian companies to enter the Tatarstan market.

Minnikhanov named machine-building and petrochemical industry, the exchange of experience in the sphere of information and energy saving the most promising areas for cooperation. According to him, issues related to agriculture, medicine and construction are also of interest.

Primož Šeligo emphasized that Slovenia is interested in strengthening relations with Tatarstan and is ready to render assistance in implementation of joint projects. The Ambassador noted that Ministry of Economic Development and Technology of Slovenia Zdravko Počivalšek is planning to visit Kazan in April. He offered to arrange a forum with participation of businessmen and officials of Tatartsan and Slovenia during the visit of the Minister. “I hope it will give an extra impetus to the  development of our cooperation,” he added.
