Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov welcomed participants of VIII all-Russian summer rural sports games in Elabuga

VIII all-Russian summer rural sports games started in Elabuga on July, 9. First Deputy Chairman of the RF Government Viktor Zubkov and Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov took part in a solemn opening ceremony. The ceremony took place at central stadium of Elabuga city. First Vice-premier of the RF Government Viktor Zubkov addressed the participants of competitions with welcoming speech. He read out the official congratulation on behalf of Russian President Dmitry Medvedev and Prime Minister Vladimir Putin.

After the anthems of Russian and Tatarstan sounded, the flag of competitions was hoisted.

The Flame of games lighted from Eternal flame of Elabuga memorial was brought to Central stadium. The Flame was handed to participants from veterans of Great patriotic war.

The prologue “Sport records are the victory of our country” was heard within the limits of solemn ceremony.

The Games were organized by RF Ministry of agriculture, RF Ministry of sport, tourism and youth policy and voluntary sport society “Urozhai”.

Representatives of 66 Russian regions take part in VIII all-Russian summer rural sports games in Elabuga. The competitions will last till July, 13.

All-Russian operator “Megafon” is an official partner of VIII all-Russian summer rural sports games.
