First deputy chairman of Russian government Viktor Zubkov gets to know about situation on republican fields

First deputy chairman of Russian government Viktor Zubkov arrived in Tatarstan with working visit. RT President Rustam Minnikhanov and other officials received Viktor Zubkov at the international airport “Begishevo”. The main purpose of his visit is participation in solemn ceremony of opening VIII All-Russia summer village sport games in Elabuga.

On arriving Viktor Zubkov got to know about situation on republican fields in connection with high abnormal temperature.

Marat Akhmetov reported on state of affairs and reminded that from June, 30 emergency situation was announced in Tatarstan in connection with draught. This year scale of drought is very large. In 2009 23 municipal regions suffered from the same dry weather. This year this happened to 43 municipal regions.

Marat Akhmetov also informed that by preliminary forecasts the expected quantity of crops harvest in republic will make 1 mln. tons (for comparison: 2009-4,4 mln. tons, 2008- 6,3 mln. tons).

President of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov told about seminar-meeting held in republic with heads of agricultural enterprises; recommendations for further work were given.

One more urgent problem is provision of livestock sector with feed.

Viktor Zubkov also visited special economic zone “Alabuga” and held a working meeting with participation of RT President Rustam Minnikhanov, RT Minister of agriculture and foodstuff Marat Akhmetov, Head of executive committee of Elabuga municipal region Gennady Emelianov, RT Minister of youth affairs, sport and tourism Rafis Burganov.
