Rustam Minnikhanov about project Tu-160: “We are interested in implementation of this project. It is the second wind for our Kazan aircraft plant”

On March 10, President of PAO “United Aircraft Corporation” Yuri Slyusar told representatives of media agencies in Kazan that the project Tu-160 at Kazan aircraft plant is a grandiose project in the history of post-Soviet aircraft industry. The agreement signed between Tatarstan and United Aircraft Corporation at Tatarstan Government House today lays the foundation for cooperation.

“We are reconstructing production that stopped 22 years ago. It is a large-scale task and we will need the support of all parties involved, and first of all the Republic of Tatarstan. We express our gratitude to Rustam Minnikhanov and our colleagues for their work and we are aimed at team work,” Yuri Slyusar said.

Answering questions of journalists, Yuri Slyusar said that Russian aircraft, engine-building and instrument engineering enterprises will be involved in the project.

Rustam Minnikhanov noted that other industrial enterprises, such as KAMAZ PJSC and Kazan helicopter plant, educational and research organizations will take part in the project implementation.
