Tatarstan Prime Minister Ildar Khalikov: “Diversity of nationalities and religions is the main wealth”

The fourth national holiday of Chuvash culture “Uyav” was celebrated in Nurlat region of Tatarstan Republic. RT Prime Minister Ildar Khalikov took part in the event. Tatarstan Prime Minister and representatives of Chuvash Republic were met by national groups from various Russian regions.

Ildar Khalikov saw exhibition of national craft where Chuvash kinds of decorative and applied arts were represented: embroidery, wooden architecture, painting and fancywork.

Tatarstan Prime Minister addressed participants of the holiday “Uyav” with welcoming speech in three languages: Chuvash, Tatar and Russian. Head of Tatarstan government also read out a greeting and wished everyone excellent mood, health and wellbeing on behalf of Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov.

Motto of “Uyav 2010” is intergenerational continuity. National festivities lasted all day long. One could hear Chuvash music and take part in merry competitions.

The holiday was organized by RT Ministry of culture, Chuvash national cultural autonomy in the Republic of Tatarstan and executive committee of Nurlat region.

Delegation of Chuvash Republic actively participated in celebrations.
