Education, the priority national project, has functioned as an accelerator for systemic modernization of education in regions in many aspects. The statement was made by Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov at the meeting of the Council under the Russian President on implementation of national projects and demographic policy.
The meeting was chaired by Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin in the village of Tulinovka near Tambov on July 2.
Reporting on results and prospects of the Education priority national project in Tatarstan, Rustam Minnikhanov said the republic was continuing to develop the system of school transfers. Last year, under the support programme of domestic automobile industry 100 school buses were supplied to Tatarstan schools, and 60 buses, sponsored by Tatneft, will be delivered in 2010.
“We’ve launched a large-scale project exchanging old computers in schools and providing teachers with laptops. By the beginning of the new school year schools will receive 11,000 computers, and some 13,000 teachers will have personal laptops. Within 3 years, we'll completely renew computers in all schools and provide all teachers with laptops,” Rustam Minnikhanov said.
