Tatarstan and the Leningrad Oblast sign Agreement on cooperation at the Kazan Kremlin

The Agreement on trade, economic, research, social and cultural cooperation between the Republic of Tatarstan and the Leningrad Oblast and the plan of events aimed at its implementation in 2011-2012 were signed at the Kazan Kremlin on June 24.

The documents were signed by Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov and Governor of the Leningrad Oblast Valery Serdyukov.

The delegation of the Leningrad Oblast led by the Governor is on official visit to the Republic of Tatarstan.

Early today, they got acquainted with the activities carried out at the IT-Park of Kazan, visited of one of the republic’s livestock enterprises (OAO Krasny Vostok Agro).

At the meeting with Valery Serdyukov, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov emphasized that today it is important to establish bilateral exchange of experience, to strengthen close relations between the republic and the Leningrad Oblast.

The Tatarstan President thanked the leadership of the Leningrad Oblast for the attention to the Tatarstan community recalling that during his recent visit to St. Petersburg (June 17-18, 2010) he had a chance to see it personally.

Valery Serdyukov remarked that just during the first day in Tatarstan he saw there was a lot to learn from. He said he was impressed by the Centre of preparation of specialists providing high-technological medical help. I’ve decided our specialists should get training in the centre, the Governor of the Leningrad Oblast declared.

We need to exchange experience with the Republic of Tatarstan in many spheres, Valery Serdyukov said.

After the meeting at the Kazan Kremlin, Rustam Minnikhanov and Valery Serdyukov met with journalists.
