Ildar Khalikov and Mikhail Akulov sign agreement on reconstruction of facilities at “Sviyazhsk” station

On February 24, Prime Minister of Tatarstan Ildar Khalikov and Vice-President of OAO “Russian railways” Mikhail Akulov signed an agreement on the reconstruction of railway infrastructure at “Sviyazhsk” station of the Gorky Railway Station.  

The Head of the Gorky railway Anatoly Lesun, Head of the Department for business unit “Passenger transportations” of OAO “Russian railways” Maksim Shneider, and Tatarstan Minister of Transport and Roads Lenar Safin attended the event.

Speaking at the event, Anatoly Lesun reminded that Tatarstan and Russian railways implemented a few joint projects in previous years, in particular, the organization of intermodal transportations between Kazan railway station and Kazan airport, the reconstruction of Kazan-2 railway station and creation of the transport hub on its territory.

According to Ildar Khalikov, when all the works are finished “Sviyazhsk” station will become a modern railway complex that will meet European standards. Reconstruction works will be carried out in 2016-2017.
