President of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov acquainted with work of President’s library named after Eltsin in St. Petersburg

Head of republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov visited President’s library named after Eltsin in St. Petersburg.

Tatarstan President is in St. Petersburg with two-day visit (June, 17-18, 2010).

The library named after Eltsin is located in historical building of governing synod built in 1829-1835 by project of architect Rossi.

From 1918 to 2005 the Russian state historical archive was placed here. Later on it was relocated and President’s library named after Eltsin was founded there. Restoration lasted for 1,5 years.

Today the library is equipped with the most advanced high-tech facilities providing for the students, scientific workers and teachers access to electronic archives, electronic reading rooms and Internet.

The multimedia hall for conducting video conferences, space bridges, seminar and reading lectures was demonstrated to Tatarstan President.

Rustam Minnikhanov was also invited to attend ceremony of signing quadripartite agreement on creation and distribution of tele-content between Russia and USA.
