Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov holds business meetings in St. Petersburg

The head of the republic is on a two-day working visit to St. Petersburg on 17-18 June 2010. One of the goals of the visit is to take part in the 14th International Economic Forum.

In the afternoon, Rustam Minnikhanov met with Sergei Kostin, the Chairman of the Board of the state-owned company Russian Automobile Roads.

Development of the transportation infrastructure in Russia and regions, creating conditions for further development of the road industry as one of the economy’s key constituents, issues of improving public transportation work in cities and measures aimed at preventing traffic jams during rush-hours were discussed at the meeting. The parties discussed the project of constructing the international transportation corridor “Western Europe – Western China”.

Tatarstan Minister of Economy Marat Safiullin, RT Minister of Transportation and Roads Lenar Safin, RF State Duma deputy Foat Komarov, RT President’s assistant Iskander Muflikhanov and others attended the meeting.

Besides, Rustam Minnikhanov met with CEO of OAO Group F4 Mikhail Abyzov.

The, the Tatarstan President had a meeting with representatives of the Tatar community in St. Petersburg.

The meetings took place at the Ambassador Hotel.
