Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov receives Chairman of the Senate of the Parliament of the Czech Republic Premysl Sobotka at the Kazan Kremlin

Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov received Mr Premysl Sobotka, the Chairman of the Senate of the Parliament of the Czech Republic, at the Kazan Kremlin on June 14.

The meeting took place at the Fireplace Room of Residence of the Tatarstan President.

Rustam Minnikhanov sincerely greeted Premysl Sobotka and expressed hope the visit of the Chairman of the Senate of the Parliament of the Czech Republic would give a new impetus to the development of Tatarstan-Czech relationship.

It was established historically that we have what to show each other, Rustam Minnikhanov stated. The Czech Republic and Tatarstan enjoy long relations in economy, politics and culture also boasting a number of successfully implemented projects.

The Tatarstan President also said that the relations of the Czech Republic and Tatarstan had raised to a new level: contacts were established between the Tatarstan State Council and the Czech Parliament.

Earlier today, the protocol of intentions was signed between the State Council of the Republic of Tatarstan and the Senate of the Parliament of the Czech Republic.

Rustam Minnikhanov also remarked that Kazan would host the Tatarstan-Czech Business Forum on June 15; it is aimed to establish interaction of business structures.

Premysl Sobotka thanked Rustam Minnikhanov for the warm reception saying that he read a lot about Tatarstan but during the visit he was impressed but the atmosphere of hospitality in the republic.

Today, Russia and the Czech Republic do not have any political problems, Premysl Sobotka said, our main task is to support our businessmen, to create conditions for the development of projects. He said a representative delegation of twenty businessmen interested in establishing business contacts to implement new joint projects came to Kazan to attend the Tatarstan-Czech Business Forum.

Then, the meeting of the Tatarstan President and the Chairman of the Parliament of the Czech Republic continued in the Negotiation Room of the Residence of the President.
