Tatarstan Prime Minister Ildar Khalikov takes part in opening of III regional forum “Forest and man-Kazan”

III regional forum “Forest and man-Kazan” is being held today in the capital of Tatarstan. The 12th international exhibition “Intermebel”, 11 specialized exhibition “Woodworking” opened within frameworks of forum at exhibition centre “Kazan fair”. 135 firms from 41 cities of Russia, Kazakhstan and European countries participate in exhibitions.

RT Prime Minister Ildar Khalikov took part in opening of exhibitions. He noted that the most advanced technologies are traditionally presented at such events. Head of RT government wished good luck to participants hoping that all presented ideas and technologies in the sphere of forestry would be used in Tatarstan and Russia.

RT Minister of forestry Nail Magdeev told journalists that though this sector takes a minor place in Tatarstan economy, forest has an important ecological and protection function. Republican leadership pays much attention to forestry development. By words of Head of RT Ministry of forestry increase of volumes of processing poor-quality wood is a significant task.

Forum “Forest and man-Kazan” began its work from plenary session on the following topic: “State of Russian timber processing complex, current problems and methods of their solving”. Reports of participants, seminars and work of sections are to be held later on.

Key problems and issues of business development, environmental protection and ecology, investments into timber processing complex, perspectives of developing the sphere in Tatarstan and Russia will be discussed at the forum.

Among participants of the forum are officials of RT Ministry of industry and trade, RT Ministry of agriculture, RT Ministry of forestry, Russian union of lumbermen and exporters, Ministry of forestry of Mari El republic, Ministry of industry and innovations of Nizhny Novgorod oblast and other Russian core ministries, organizations and associations.
