On February 5, at Tatarstan Government House, speaking at an extended meeting on results of work of enterprises and organizations supervised by Volga Region Office of Federal Environmental, Technological and Nuclear Oversight Service, Rostekhnadzor on providing industrial and energy security in 2015 and tasks for 2016, Chief of Federal Environmental, Technological and Nuclear Oversight Service Alexei Aleshin said that one of the main ways to improve the supervising work of Rostekhnadzor is to increase the industrial safety level along with eliminating excessive administrative barriers, which are not mutually exclusive activities.
Tatarstan Prime Minister Ildar Khalikov, Chief of Rostekhnadzor’s Volga Region office Boris Petrov, and other officials took part in the meeting.
In particular the meeting discussed issues related to the implementation of the chemical and petrochemical projects, prosecutor's supervision over the execution of laws on industrial safety, inspection of capital construction facilities, measures to improve the reliability and safe operation of the technological equipment at hazardous industrial facilities and others.
Aleshin stressed that the last two years have seen big changes in the legislation on industrial safety. In particular, industrial facilities were divided into four safety classes, new dates for the scheduled and unscheduled inspections were approved.
In his turn Khalikov pointed out that issues of industrial safety are particularly topical for Tatarstan as an industrially developed region.
He noted that Tatarstan is implementing large-scale projects for the construction, modernization and reconstruction of oil production, refining, petrochemicals, energy facilities.
He also said that at today’s meeting Minnikhanov and Aleshin signed a cooperation agreement between Tatarstan government and Rotekhnadzor on ecological, technological and nuclear supervision.
