Tatarstan Minister of Health: Total mortality has reached the lowest level in Tatarstan for the last 10 years

On February 4, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov took part in a session of Tatarstan Ministry of Health on results of work in 2015 and tasks for 2016.

Making the key report, the Minister of Health Adel Vafin informed that total mortality has reached the lowest level in Tatarstan for the last 10 years. The birth rate has decreased, 56,899 children were born in the republic.

The infant mortality rate has decreased by 7.4 per cent. The number of cardio-vascular system diseases decreased by 3.4 per cent, which is the result of systemic work of high technology medical centers.

According to Adel Vafin, the decrease in total mortality was the main achievement last year. However, cancer death rate has increased.
