Rustam Minnikhanov opens International forum TIAF

On February 3, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov, Minister of Industry and Trade Albert Karimov, Director of the Department for transport and special mechanical engineering at Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade Aleksandr Naumov, CEO at Association of European Businesses Frank Schauff, heads of major Russian and foreign automakers, and representatives of federal and regional ministries and agencies took part in opening of International forum TIAF (KAZANSKAYA YARMARKA EXHIBITION CENTER, Kazan, Russia).

Speaking at the ceremony, Rustam Minnikhanov said that the forum is held for the second time and combines achievements of Russian and European automakers. He added that in current conditions development of the automotive industry requires fast decisions, especially in the sphere of import substitution and localization.

Minnikhanov reminded the audience that WorldSkills Competition will be held in Kazan in 2019. The preliminary round of WorldSkills Russia championship will be held during the forum.

Frank Schauff said that taking part in the forum was a great privilege for the Association of European Businesses.

Aleksandr Naumov wished participants of the forum productive work and called domestic manufacturers for active cooperation with foreign partners.

After the official opening ceremony the distinguished guests looked around the exhibition of the latest solutions in automotive industry, new raw materials and auto parts.
