On February 1, speaking at a summing-up meeting of the Ministry of Education and Science of the republic, Tatarstan Prime Minister – Minister of Education and Science Engel Fattakhov said that results of diagnostic tests of teachers in some regions of the republic cause doubt in their objectivity.
Fattakhov reminded that last year 14,590 primary school teachers of the republic took diagnostic tests on their subject knowledge in the unified state exam format for the first time in Tatarstan.
According to the Minister, the test results were sent to municipal regions. "The Ministry did not analyze each teacher’s results. This must be done by municipal methodologists. Methodical work with teachers should be organized following the testing,” he said.
"However, the objectivity of the testing in a number of regions causes doubts. Subject teachers from Kukmor, Mamadysh, Arsk, Baltasy, Leninogorsk regions have shown the highest results. At the same time their students do not show a comparable level of knowledge," Fattakhov continued.
Fattakhov also said that Federal Education and Science Supervision Service followed the lead of Tatarstan and decided to carry out all-Russian diagnostic testing of teachers of the Russian language and mathematics this year.
He went on to report that the Ministry has set a task to actively introduce inclusive education in 2016.
According to the Minister, six special classes have been open in nine regions of the republic with more than 500 children with hearing, speech, locomotor system and mental development disorders studying there.
