Ak Bars hockey players presented with golden medals and Cup of Russia at the Pyramid Convention Centre

A gala evening in honour of the Ak Bars Hockey Club – the Champion of the Continental Hockey League, the Championship of Russia, the Gagarin Cup Winner of the 2009-2010 season – was held at the Pyramid Convention Centre (Kazan) on May 26.

Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov, Tatarstan State Counsellor Mintimer Shaimiev, Russian Hockey Federation PresidentVladislav Tretyak, Continental Hockey League President Aleksander Medvedev attended the event.

Golden medals and the Cup of Russia were presented to the Ak Bars hockey team at the ceremony.

Ak Bars Club President – Director General of OAO Tatneft Shafagat Takhautdinov and the team’s coach Zinatulla Bilyaletdinov spoke to the guests and participants of the ceremony.

The ceremony was followed by a concert of Tatarstan and Russian performers.

State awards, medals and letters of gratitude of the Tatarstan President were presented to the hokey players and members of the Ak Bars Hockey Club earlier. The sportsmen also met with fans and demonstrated the Gagarin Cup on Millennium Square.
