Farid Mukhametshin held “parliamentary lesson” for teachers

Today, the RT State Council hosted an Open Day for the teachers involved in the arranging of the parliamentary lesson-2016. The guests of the parliament were heads of methodological associations of history and social studies, teachers, whose students became winners of All-Russian Olympiad in history, as well as the winners of previous parliamentary lessons. This year the parliamentary lesson called “Citizen. Society. State” will be held on February 8-13.

Prior to the meeting with the Chairman of the RT State Council, teachers toured the parliamentary center and visited the plenary session hall, museum and library. On the activity of the parliament told the Secretary of the State Council Lilia Mavrina told the quests about the activities conducted by the parliament.

Opening the meeting, Vice Chairwoman of the RT State Council, head of the working group on preparation of “parliamentary lesson 2016” Rimma Ratnikova noted that this is a very interesting and informative form of work both for students and teachers. Parliamentary lessons contribute to the formation of political and legal culture and active citizenship of students.

Chairman of the RT State Council Farid Mukhametshin highly appreciated the joint work of the republican parliament and Ministry of Education in arranging a parliamentary lesson. The head of the parliament urged teachers to talk openly with students about current situation in the country and the world.

He spoke about difficult economic and political situation in the republic and touched upon the problems of education, in particular, the importance of vocational training. Head of the parliament believes that teachers should help and guide their students in making conscious choice of their future professions.

At the end of the meeting the participants of the Open Day asked questions and shared their ideas and proposals for joint projects.

For reference: the first parliamentary lesson in Tatarstan was held in 2009. Since that time it is conducted on annual bases. The parliamentary lesson was devoted to different topics: “Where laws are created”, “Citizen and elections”, “Constitutional rights and duties of man and citizen”, “State symbols of Russia and Tatarstan,” etc.
