Farid Mukhametshin: “Tatarstan people highly appreciated “Balkysh” festival

The meeting of the Organizing Committee of the 4th Republican festival of amateur performers among veterans called “Balkysh” (“Shining”) has been held today in the State Council of the Republic of Tatarstan.

The festival was held for 3 times already and each time it attracted more and more talented veterans. Last year the festival brought together over 10,000 participants, and this year the number is expected to grow even more.

Chairman of the Organizing Committee of the Festival Farid Mukhametshin noted that all three festivals had been a great success and gathered big audiences. The Head of the Regional Parliament thanked the republican and municipal councils of veterans for the great teamwork they done.

The festival has become a good tradition and became an essential part of cultural life of the republic. As usual, this year the festival will be held in three stages. Qualifying round will be held in February-April and zonal stage – August-September. Then the final stage will be held. The festival will end with a gala concert in Kazan.

During the meeting, the Organizing Committee has approved the Republican festival jury, which will be headed by People's Artist of Tatarstan Shamil Akhmetzyanov.
