On January 18, at a session of Tatarstan Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources and Federal Service for Supervision in the Sphere of Natural Resource Use in the Republic of Tatarstan that was held in Kazan, President of the republic Rustam Minnikhanov informed that Tatarstan is combating sales of marine low-viscous fuel. In 2015, sales of such fuel were revealed at 84 petrol stations in the republic.
Also, Rustam Minnikhanov noted that industry is well developed in Tatarstan, major enterprises are functioning and the residential density is high. Therefore, man-caused impact on the environemtn is very high.
Minnikhanov reminded that 2016 was announced the Year of water conservation zones in Tatarstan and activities that were held during the Year of parks and squares will be continued.
According to the president, more than 50 solid waste landfills were built in the republic for the last 10-15 years, and waste separation problems are urgent.
