Rustam Minnikhanov opens new sports and fitness complex in Naberezhnye Chelny

On January 18, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov arrived in Naberezhnye Chelny on a working visit to take part in an opening ceremony of a new sports and fitness complex with a swimming pool at Naberezhnye Chelny State Teachers’ Training University.

The construction of the facility built under United Russia's “500 Swimming Pools” project was started in October 2014.  A three-storey building with a total area of 3245,5 square meters features two swimming pools, a gym, a group exercise room, a wrestling room, a cardio workout room, a room for children, and a sauna. The complex stands are equipped with seats for disabled people.

Congratulating students on the event, Minnikhanov said that the university is one of the leading universities in Tatarstan and its graduates are in high demand in the labor market.

Minnikhanov also reminded that another swimming pool will be open later this year in the city.

He wished students great academic achievements and success in sports.
