RT Prime Minister Ildar Khalikov held meeting on transport service of summer Universiade 2013

RT Prime Minister Ildar Khalikov held meeting on transport service of XXVII World summer Universiade 2013 in Kazan. The event took place in international airport “Kazan” with participation of Senior vice-president of JSC “Russian railways” Valentin Gapanovich.

We remind that in the course of present visit to the capital of Tatarstan Valentin Gapanovich saw technical state of objects of railway infrastructure which are to be modernized before Universiade 2013. He also examined the program of modernization and renovation of infrastructure of Gorky railway (branch of Russian railways) in Kazan. Among discussed issues was organization of inter-modal transportations between railway station “Kazan” and international airport “Kazan”.

It is presumed that for train traffic between railway station “Kazan” and international airport “Kazan” 25 km of branch “Kazan-Vakhitovo-Park Promishlenny-Usady-Stolbishi-Yubileinaya” will be modernized and 2 km of new railway will be constructed.

Changes will touch also international airport “Kazan”. Carrying over transit trains to the station “Vosstaniya-passenger” will allow increasing traffic capacity and using passenger infrastructure of station “Kazan” for servicing passengers arriving from international airport.

We remind that work on organizing inter-modal transportations between railway station “Kazan” and international airport “Kazan” began in 2008 ( Protocol on cooperation between RT government and Gorky railway (branch of Russian railways) was signed on February,15, 2008).

RT Minister of industry and trade Ravil Zaripov, RT deputy minister of transport and road facilities Azat Galiakhmetov, Deputy minister of construction, architecture and housing - Director General of “Tatinvestgrazhdanproekt” Irek Faizullin took part in the meeting.
