Head of Russian Agency for health and consumer rights on Tatarstan Viktor Morozov: much more nonstandard poultry and dairy products are imported from outside the republic

Videoconference briefing "On quality of production realized in RT and protection of consumer rights" has been held in RT Cabinet. Head of Administration of Federal service for consumer rights and human welfare protection on Republic Tatarstan Viktor Morozov, head of state alcohol inspection on Republic Tatarstan Igor Marchenko, first deputy head of Kazan executive committee on economy Rustam Nigmatullin took part in the event.

By words of Viktor Morozov Federal service for consumer rights and human welfare protection on Republic Tatarstan yearly carries out comparative monitoring of quality and safety of Tatarstan products and food stuff imported from other Russian regions.

Every year 30 000 samples of products are examined for quality and safety, 42 000 samples – for microbiological characteristics, that allows giving adequate assessment.

According to Viktor Morozov it was stated that twice as much nonstandard poultry products and three times as much nonstandard dairy products are imported from outside the republic. He informed likewise that law-quality and dangerous products are imported to republic more often (pastes from cod’s liver and caviar produced in Murmansk, butter from Ulyanovsk region, salads from Nizhny Novgorod, meat semi-products from Mari El, cooking poppy (Czech republic).

Analysis of consumers’ addresses on realization of law-quality products showed: such cases were mainly revealed in JSC “Magnit”, JSC “Real”, OOO “Vester”, OOO “Metro cash & carry”, OOO “Karusel”.
By and large 252 tones of law-quality products were rejected in 2009. About 5,5 thousand complaints were received from consumers in 2009 and beginning of 2010.

First deputy head of Kazan executive committee on economy Rustam Nigmatullin told about situation in Tatarstan. He said that often dishonest owners of sales points do not observe the rules of commodity storage and sell expired products. This fact mainly concern kiosks.

Answering the question about reaction of controlling bodies for complaints, participants of briefing reminded that in accordance with federal law controlling bodies may check entrepreneurs just once in three years.
