In 2010 12, 5 thousand of Tatarstan teachers will get notebooks

RT Deputy prime minister - Minster of informatization and communications Nikolay Nikiforov and RT Minister of education and science Albert Gilmutdinov told about plans of Republic Tatarstan on implementation of information technologies in various economic sectors and everyday life of citizens at videoconference briefing in House of RT government. It was held with participation of municipal regions and translated in Internet.

In particular, journalists were told about program by which 12 000 teachers of Tatarstan comprehensive schools will get notebooks in 2010. It is coincided with Year of teacher and has been approved by RT President Rustam Minnikhanov. 200 mln. roubles have been allocated from republican budget.

Besides, it has been decided to renew old computer equipment in republican schools. About 250 mln. roubles are to be spent for this purpose.

By and large, 450 mln. roubles will be spent for equipping schools with new PCs and buying notebooks for teachers in 2010.

By words of RT Minister of education and science purchase of equipment will be realized on tender basis. He also explained that notebooks are to be given on a competitive basis. Results will be summed up by May,30 on the level of municipal units and by June,14 – on republican level.

Minster of informatization and communications Nikolay Nikiforov told journalists about project “Electronic education in the Republic of Tatarstan”. It has already been launched as a “pilot” one in 100 republican schools.

Moreover, Nikolay Nikiforov said that information technologies are being implemented in health care (project of modernization of health care system at Nizhnekamsk municipal region) and magistrate’s sector.
