President of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov and President of JSC “AvtoVAZ” Igor Komarov discuss issues of developing automobile industry

President of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov and President of JSC “AvtoVAZ” Igor Komarov discussed issues of developing domestic automobile industry. The meeting was held in Kazan Kremlin.

Rustam Minnikhanov thanked delegation of JSC “AvtoVAZ” for visit and announced that republic highly assess cooperation with a giant of Russian automobile industry. Russian Federation is an automobile country with two main centres - “AvtoVAZ” - as a producer of motor cars and JSC “KAMAZ” - producer of heavyweights, Rustam Minnikhanov said. He reminded that the third large producer of cars – “Sollers” company is located in Tatarstan.

President of Tatarstan thanked leadership of “AvtoVAZ” for realization of federal program on utilization of old cars. He thinks that the program may be extended as regards utilization of old heavyweights and agricultural machinery. According to Rustam Minnikhanov it will allow to renew auto park and positively influence ecological situation in the country.

Head of Tatarstan also noted that cooperation between republic and JSC “AvtoVAZ” must be well-coordinated and integrated. President of JSC “AvtoVAZ” Igor Komarov said in his turn that he pays serious attention to the present visit to Tatarstan. He announced that in this very region there are conditions for developing auto-component production. We intend to learn about what is being done in Tatarstan in this sphere, he said.

Serious potential for further cooperation between Tatarstan and JSC “AvtoVAZ” consists in the sphere of petrochemical industry. First of all it is development of auto component basis for delivering raw materials (particularly, plastics) and materials.

Rustam Minnikhanov noted that demand for “AvtoVAZ” production has considerably increased. This will promote increasing volumes of tire production including Tatarstan enterprise JSC “Nizhnekamskshina”. He suggested conducting a joint seminar with JSC “AvtoVAZ” on issues of developing auto-component basis and using polymeric materials in auto production.

Tatarstan may become the centre of developing auto-component sector in our country, Rustam Minnikhanov stressed once again.

Prime Minister Ildar Khalikov and President of JSC “AvtoVAZ” Igor Komarov signed Agreement on long-term cooperation between Tatarstan government and JSC “AvtoVAZ”.
